A 180-year-old property located at the intersections of the Avon River and Annapolis Valleys, this place is built for intimate gatherings, which is why we’re delighted to offer up the most character-filled area of The August House – Myrtle’s Lounge Common Space – for couples who are looking to host a cozy, dreamy wedding for up to 12 people. We provide the beautiful space, you provide the reason to celebrate and, together, we’ll fill the house with love.
Perfect for an intimate ceremony, our beautiful common space features the original marble fireplace, black steel doors and lots of bright light.
Both bright and cozy, this is the perfect venue for a post-ceremony feast. Dancing invited, but please note that events in this space wrap by 9:30pm as part of our Petite Weddings.
There are five spacious, stunning suites in the original part of the house. Once the party is over, guests can simply make their way up the stairs for a restful night’s sleep.
If you have dreams of pre-ceremony cocktails or a late night fire, The Terrace, located in the front of the house, is like a fairy garden, perfect for small group gatherings.

We believe every great celebration includes beautiful food and drinks. Pricing starts at $125/pp (+grat and HST); minimum food spend of $1,250 (+grat and HST).

Culinary Experience: All culinary experiences are provided by The August House hospitality team. Choose your meal from one of our standard menus or work with our team to dream up your own. Hoping to have a guest chef wow your guests? We’ve got a couple great ones in our lineup. Contact us to learn more!
Bar Management: All bar services are provided by The August House’s in-house hospitality team. Like our culinary program, we offer a standard package and plenty of opportunities to customize.
On-site support: Our team can provide limited on-site, day-of support, depending on requirements. Between us, we’ve planned and managed many events, so we’re happy to support you on the venue side to make the day a success. If you’re looking to have your wedding fully planned, please chat with us. We have a relationships with a number of planners who we would be happy to connect you with.
Rentals: Our base package of chairs, tables and serving ware are all included in the 2026 Petite Wedding package. Should you wish to have speciality or different items, the rental of that (and related costs) is the responsibility of the couple.
Parking: There is parking available on the property and in our vacant lot across the street. There’s also street parking available for any overflow requirements.

Togetherness is what this house has been built for and we’ve created a special, intimate container where couples, their families and their friends get to truly relax and celebrate together. We’ve built the house to be informal and easy. Everything is stylish and beautiful, but nothing is overdone or fussy. We think of ourselves as a portal into an invincible summer and that means a delightful combination of warmth, fun, vibrancy and ease.
Not just a boutique inn, the property is an integrated experience that delivers delight at every point of interaction. From bowls of fresh fruit in the hall to picnics-to-go, The August House layers in the “Valley vibe”. Some of the ways guests can expect this to come to life will be:
